Major order from Verkehrsverbund Tirol (AUSTRIA) to next:urban
next:urban technologies GmbH wins the tender of the Verkehrsverbund Tirol for 200 E-Paper Displays 13″ E-Paper DFI and 32″ E-Paper DFI. Just in time before the strong onset of winter and the winter ski season, the first 35 devices of various sizes were delivered to the already snow-covered Tannheimer Tal in Austria. Thanks to an integrated heating system, E-Paper passenger information displays from next:urban are the right product for our customers in high alpine locations, even with strong negative temperatures.

next:urban with partner in Poland at TRANSEXPO 2021
Our Polish partner Operibus Sp. z o.o. was successfully represented at the largest transport technology fair in Poland at TRANSEXPO 2021. This took place from 27.10 to 29.10.2021 at the Targi Kielce Exhibition Centre. In addition to our 13″ E-Paper DFI, Operibus also presented the 32″ E-Paper DFI with
text-to-speech function.
The interest in our products was enormous and there were many lively technical discussions.
The fair has led to further orders for us and our Polish partner.

next:urban at the Municipal Fair 2021
Die Kommunalmesse 2021 fand heuer in Tulln statt und die next:urban technologies GmbH präsentierte eine Weltneuheit. Das erste völlig energieautarke Blackout Terminal mit Solarbetrieb und the Municipal Fair 2021 took place in Tulln this year and next:urban technologies GmbH presented a world first. The first completely energy-self-sufficient blackout terminal with solar operation and battery supply for several days in the event of a black out. Mayors from all over Austria were able to convince themselves that their citizens, even in the event of a discontinuation of mobile communications and a total blackout, receive disaster warnings and thus appropriate measures can be taken.
How does it work? By EWF (Emergency Warning Function). The devices are addressed via the highly available digital radio via DAB+ by an operations control center. A warning text is transmitted to the E-Paper Display and output via text-to-speech every 60 seconds. Rising and falling light indicates that alerts are available. For existing E-Paper driving information displays from next:urban, this function can be retrofitted at the station. The UMTS connection for the real-time info is deactivated and DAB+ is activated. In times like these, a real milestone for an effective disaster warning for residents in cities and communities. The project was implemented in cooperation with the Frauenhofer Institute and Digital radio Austria.

Verkehrsverbund Vorarlberg (Austria) relies on E-Paper
Since mid-August, passengers at the “Marul Kirche” stop in Austria have been able to look forward to dynamic passenger information on a E-Paper DFI. At a glance you can see the next bus connections, which are directly linked to the information in real time. Further other information (e.B. about hiking buses) is also currently being passed on to passengers.
